Beginings (June 12th, 1850)

Now then, down to buisness, see here recently that dang government passed the compromise of 1850, they done let California come into the union as a free state, I had planned to move out there with my slaves and even worse my cousin living in Texas now aparently isn't cause the borders are redefined, oh well at least when my slaves somehow escape they have to be returned to me by law! I would have to say that my fifth cousin thrice removed, John C. Calhoun, might be right with his idea that we done been mistreated and need to secede. Maybe, maybe not, but we done got to do something, otherwise slavery will be gone just like that!
